Preparation is Key!
Due to the high southern humidity, many homes have mildew growth. Pro Painters of North Georgia uses an environmentally friendly solution to remove all mildew and dirt in order to properly clean surfaces. You must have a clean surface in order for paint to bond properly.
We are exclusive in that we remove all downspouts from the house. This allows us to properly prepare the areas behind the downspouts for paint and also paint all sides of the downspouts. You wouldn’t dust your furniture without moving the decorations first, so why allow someone to paint your house that would paint around removable pieces?
Next, we will scrape and sand ALL trim boards, windows and doors to remove any loose paint and identify areas in need of special attention. This step also deadens the sheen of the existing paint allowing for a better In conjunction with this step, we will caulk all surface cracks and nail holes. Single pane windows will be re-glazed with new glazing compound as needed. This ensures that your home will be protected from water damage.
After the completion of these steps and before painting, we will apply primer to all bare and weathered areas along with window sills. All rusty metals will be treated with a rust convertor prior to priming and applying the finish coat.
While we use cold water pressure washing systems to clean the house prior to painting and routine maintenance cleaning, we are also equipped with a hot water system to accommodate masonry surfaces such as brick, patios, sidewalks and driveways.
